Often, employers have new or current benefit managers who want to develop a deeper understanding of the principles of Value Based Purchasing (VBP) for health benefits. HC21 realizes that managers need good VBP strategy and the skill to execute VBP. With this in mind, the Mentoring & Management (M&M) program was developed.
HC21 believes class attendance enriches the learning and networking experience; however, for those who cannot travel to Knoxville, remote learning is now available. Students can learn via conference line using prepared class materials in the comfort of their own offices.
The M&M program is oriented toward ongoing implementation and staff development, and includes the following:
Quarterly, 3-hour class sessions held in Knoxville, Tennessee (annual class runs March-January)
Reading assignments and real work project assignments
Coaching from HC21 senior staff
The functional and practical areas where a class member will gain professional expertise are:
Health and productivity improvement as a strategic imperative
Health plan performance measurement
Evaluation of health risk management, including interventions like disease management
Integration of medical claims, biometrics and productivity markers
Benefit design to encourage employee engagement and consumerism
M&M sessions are provided FREE to HC21 members. Participants in the program gain the ability to measure the impact of better health of their insured populations in their respective organizations. The expectation is that the participant will be able implement health and productivity improvement within their organization.
