Every two years HealthCare 21 initiates an endorsement process with regional and national health plans to identify plans that have the best value for our community, a combination of quality and cost. Health plans are evaluated in the areas of network, administration, disease and health management, medical error prevention/patient safety, pharmacy benefit management, cost/reimbursement structure and their willingness to meet performance standards developed by HealthCare 21. Health plans are selected for endorsement by HealthCare 21. Health plans are voted on for endorsements by HealthCare 21 purchaser members after a thorough review of Request for Information (RFI) responses, eValue8 scores and health plan discussions.

Dental plans are endorsed after an extensive evaluation and scoring of plan capabilities in response to HealthCare 21’s Request for Information (RFI).

EAP Endorsement

Cariten Assist EAP

Horizon EAP

Cariten Assist EAP has been endorsed as a local provider and Horizon EAP as a national provider. Each of these programs provides high quality EAP services with proven return on investment. Each program provides employees with 24-hour counsel and feedback on a variety of issues.

Broker Endorsement

HC21 seeks to strengthen its relationships with brokers and consultants by creating an endorsement process whereby endorsed brokers and consultants act as a distribution channel for HC21 products and services while supporting the mission of HC21.

Safety First

HealthCare 21 has endorsed Safety First, a division of Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. as its preferred provider for drug and alcohol testing services. Since its inception in 1991, Safety First has grown to become a national leader in the field of drug and alcohol testing administration. Currently, the company serves a diverse client base of approximately 1,000 employers nationwide.
