Gaye Fortner, HC21 President and Chief Executive Officer, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions. Fortner previously served and is excited to return to continue her work with other coalition representatives. She was also chosen to head the newly created National Alliance Opioid Workgroup. The workgroup will convene to study the opioid epidemic and provide input and best practices to curb the issues being experienced in so many communities around the nation.
Coalitions across the nation develop and test innovative approaches to payment reform, price transparency, specialty Rx management, direct contracting with providers, and care management for high cost individuals. Participating in the National Alliance provides a forum for coalitions to learn from each other and to develop a set of best practices that all coalitions, and their employer members could implement.
Fortner noted "Having the opportunity to learn from and network with peers from other regional coalitions across the country reinforces the importance of local coalitions in the effort to drive change and improvement. I am delighted for the opportunity to serve once again at the national level, and am looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with the HC21 members and the communities we serve."
The National Alliance will hold their Annual Forum in Washington, DC on November 12-14, 2018. Join us for this great opportunity to learn from national thought leaders and do-ers, and network with coalitions and employers from all over our nation.
