HC21 25th Anniversary - Letter from CEO

Dear Stakeholder,

This year is special because HealthCare 21 is celebrating 25 years supporting our members with initiatives that have improved the cost and quality of healthcare in the markets we serve. I can hardly believe it has been 25 years. In that time, we have…

  • Championed transparency through initiatives like LeapFrog, PBM contracting, data warehousing and payment reform.

  • Developed opportunities that helped employers regain control of healthcare spending and management like nurse coaching, health risk assessments, key educational events, and employer workgroups.

  • We have helped employers develop the tools needed to identify opportunities, determine interventions and measure success like data warehousing and analytics.

  • We have established cooperative relationships among industry stakeholders toward realizing a value based healthcare market through initiatives like payment reform, Evalu8, focus groups, community hospital projects, and low value / high value care projects.

  • We have developed content and educational events that assist employers in their communication with their employers through initiatives like The Consumer Guide, Choosing Wisely, lunch and learns, and health fairs.

Of course, we could not have done anything without you, our members and supporters. Please celebrate with me all that we have done together over this quarter century. In closing, I remind you that there is more work to be done.

Thank you all for 25 wonderful years and we are looking forward to seeing you face-to-face on May 10 here in Knoxville at the East Tennessee Historical Society for our 25th Anniversary Annual Health & Productivity Forum.

Warm Regards,

Gaye Fortner
