Our HC21 Learning Network inaugural class of benefits professionals attended their second session on June 11th. The focus of this session was Networks and Benefit Design. Guest speakers included Jeff Mangrum, Cornerstone of Recovery, who spoke about behavioral health networks and the mental health parity; Andrea Baker, Bush Brothers & Company, who shared their experience with a narrow network health benefits offering; and Cristie Travis, Memphis Business Group on Health, who explained the difference between a wellness plan and a well-being program. The class enjoyed some great discussions and left with a lot of food for thought.
The HC21 Learning Network was developed to further the education of the benefits staff of HC21 members, and to allow for a deeper understanding of the principles of value-based benefit design.
During 2018, Learning Network enrollees will attend four sessions that showcase our recently developed four lever approach to value-based benefit design. The levers work in tandem with one another to push changes into your organization and our regional market.
Enrollment for 2019 will begin this Fall.
